Gas/Elec fixed deal ends Nov, when should i switch

Im currently with British Gas on a fixed deal til November.
When should i look at switching? Do i wait until the deal has ended?
Confused
Not before end of November, unless you can find an even better deal than the one you are currently on and/or it makes sense in your mind (e.g. to secure a longer fixed deal now, even if it is more cost) to switch beforehand0
