Over the last couple of weeks my heating is coming on by itself when the room stat is in the OFF position.
My boiler is a Baxi Duo-tec and have had it installed 4 Years. We have had it serviced every Year and is is coming up for a service.
Have changed the batteries in the room stat. a couple of months ago and everything seemed ok.
The last few weeks the radiators have been coming on at random times (4-30am this morning )even though the stat is set in the OFF position.
A couple of days ago the pressure in the boiler dropped below 0.5 with the E119 message so had to re-pressurise it.Took it up to just over 1.
However , after getting up at 4-30am this morning to see why the radiators were on , I noticed the pressure had gone into the red at nearly 3.
Is there any reason why the rad's would come on even though the stat. is set to off ?
Thanks :money:

In my case it was a valve stuck in open position (25years of gunk) so every time the water came on the rads came on too4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 + Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0

Have woke up again this morning with the rads on again.
Have heard before about the frequency the room stat uses to communicate with the boiler and that sometimes there is interference with a neighbours settings.
Does anybody think this is a credible reason and how I might be able to alter the frequency ?

This happened to us the weekend we had the glorious weather in june. Boiler only 2 years old. Called out the engineer, which we pay monthly for and they installed a new timer ( just incase ) and some part in the actual boiler.
All is fine now thankgod:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

I believe it is a credible reason. We get a similar thing with wireless doorbells - the bell rings but there is no-one there. It should be possible to change the channel used by the thermostat and the boiler/controller. Suggest you look at the manual.0 -
is it stating on for longer than 30 seconds and getting hot?
If NO then it's just it's inbuilt maintenance cycle. Most Combi boilers cycle the heating system at least once every 10 days (can be every 30 days depending on the make/model) Just to stir up the water and to try and dislodge any trapped air in the system. Mines goes off once every 3 weeks or so if the heating has been off for an extended period..Laters
