When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. .

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending :money:

Morning peeps :) and what a grey and dreary one it is! Blinking nora autumn came quickly this year!

My list is no great shakes today - feeling not great the last few day. Keep thinking about taking a day off sick but then think it'll just make my work life harder. Might as just go in do my hours and and keep up with things. anyway enough of my mumbling!

* check banking
* order bath
* all meals from stores - prawn curry tonight mmmmmmm
* go to buy some biscuits for a meeting I'm running
* make note of mileage
* read Martin's newsletter
* early night tonight
* cancel meeting I'm due to attend tonight
* work out finances and bathroom budget

Ok that's all I can think of at the moment. Hope everyone has a great day x

    Morning :wave:

    Thanks for the starter DNM.

    Love this Forum. It keeps me focused. Weather is attrocious.

    The List:

    :staradmin Check if credit reference agency have corrected an error on my file. They have. Yay! I know credit ratings aren't worth the paper they're printed on, but I do want them at least to assess me on the right data.

    :staradmin
    Get OH to check own credit rating so check for errors.

    :staradmin
    Check online banking. Fine.

    :staradmin "Sign on" at [STRIKE]Land of the Lost[/STRIKE] Jobcentre. Beg for travel expenses to an interview. Last time they refused, but this one is 30 miles away, so surely they'll agree?

    :staradmin Shop frugally while in town. Check Quidco ClickSnap (Link) and TopCashBack SnapAndSave (Link) before leaving. Might buy chestnut mushrooms on offer in Tesco.

    :staradmin Watch a free film tonight on BlinkBox/ClubcardTV. To sign up to watch free films through Tesco Clubcard follow this link. (Link)

    :staradmin Ignore all advertisements for new iPhone 5s and 5C.

    :staradmin Wear novelty slippers OH bought me last year from the PoundShop. You microwave them to keep you warm. They are really warm but I can't walk in them as the soles are full of 'synthetic pellets'. It's like walking barefoot on a gravel beach. :o Will have to do for keeping warm when sitting down! I don't like putting them in the microwave though, seems unhygienic.

    :staradmin Dig out nearly new coat from Winter storage and spray the seams with Fabsil from stores to waterproof it against the rain. Glad we still have some it's £4 a tin to buy.

    Freebies:

    :staradmin Free Nakd Bar 10,000 printable coupons available (Link)

    :staradmin Free Flea Comb (Link)

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning,

    Feeling a little down today as I have been going through accounts today and realised we had another insurance we didnt need and so have cancelled it. I am hoping they can reimburse it as I had already paid another insurance!
    Still today:
    Tea ready to take to work later
    Sorting out all our socks
    Third NSD.

    Its the little things that add up I guess.

    Afternoon Money Savers,
    DNMS - Hope you're feeling better by now. I'm not feeling 100% lively myself, but think I'm just starting to reach a funny age! :-/
    Small positive things today:
    *Laundry successfully dried overnight on our new heated airer. Think we'll get on ok with it. It holds more than I thought it would & even 3 pairs of jeans are nicely dry.
    *Meals as per meal plans - home made lentil dhal from freezer which I batch cooked a while ago - with rice & spicy stir-fried veggies.
    *Been busy with the plums & damsons Mum & Dad brought me yesterday. Damson & apple dripping through from jellybag, 6 jars of plum jam bottled & cooling on the side, a dozen plum & cinnamon muffins baked, some to go in freezer for when we need a bit of something in the cake-line.
    *Did a couple of surveys.
    *Picked tomatoes. Still quite a few left, but have stopped feeding the plants now, as just need to concentrate on ripening them.
    *Lunch will partially involve leftovers from yesterday.
    *Knit Christmas present.
    Ooooh, forgot to say....yesterday I had a bit of a Foxgloves:Wool Shop interface & did not crack!! They had the totally gorgeous sequinny yarn I've been hanging my nose over for ages, & did I succumb? No I did not! Have got pattern for long tunic with zip right down the back which would look FAB knitted in that & how glam it would look with jeans & my purple DMs, <sighs>, but I still didn't buy it & felt small rosy glow of virtue, as wouldn't even have hesitated in the past.
    Oh well, that's me,
