Cheap Energy Club Scottish Power extra £30 cash back?

Hi,

I have just made a switch with the energy club. On the list there was £45 cashback for single fuel switch to scottish power. Howvever, as I proceeded to the next page, there was a £45 cashback and then a further £30 cashback listed. Yet now that I have gone through with the switch there is only £45 cashback mentioned in the confirmation email.

Am I right in thinking that the £45 cashback is from the cheap energy club but the additional £30 will come direct from scottish power? Or is the £30 erroneous?

You should have went to topcashback co. uk
Scottish Power are giving £105 cashback for gas and electricity

£15 will come from MoneySuperMarket.com/Cheap Energy Club - a special for going through Martin's links
The other £30 I think also comes from MoneySuperMarket.com but you don't need to go through Martin's links to get it. (or it might be direct from Scottish Power?)

Presumably £45 was the total of the two cashback offerings.

The OP said it was a single fuel switch. TCB only pay £52.50 for that ;)
  • I need someone from the MSE team to assist with this as it is unclear and I am not interested in switching if £45 is the total including the £30 cashback. it does not make it clear. How do I get in touch with someone from the site for clarification?

As MSE Martin says, you really shouldn't base your decision to switch on the possiblity of cashback at all, since cashback is not guaranteed until it hits your bank account.

The article advises how you can contact the Cheap Energy Club (and that is not by posting on the MSE forum).
Alternatively, you can take advantage of the cooling off period that applies to all energy switching requests if you don't wish the switch to go ahead :)

Edit: Hang on, I thought you had pre-payment meters
And even if you have changed them, I thought you said you switched to EDF Blue+ very recently???

How do I contact the cheap energy club?

Yes I switched to EDF recently in order to get a credit meter installed. However, I have now finished that process, and the Scottish Power is slightly cheaper than the EDF one, and with the cashback it is a no brainer.

a single switch from TOPCASHBACK is £52.50 and if you switch both then its £105.00

I really cannot understand why people that get a comparison on cheap energy club etc and go through that with less cashback whereas, if you get your comparison and Scottish power are better INCLUDING £105 cash back then why don't people go through TOPCASHBACK????

    Anyone care to explain?

It's not always cheapest to switch both fuels (if you even have 2) to the same supplier ;)
