Royal mail is this correct?

Hi,

So i sent 3 items via royal mail. Items from ebay which fit into small parcle catagory at the royal mail. The postage cost £3 so i put the stamps on the item before going to the post office (I have a stack of stamps) and when i handed them over the lady franks (I think thats the word, basically ink stamps them) All of the stamps.

Doesnt this invalidate the stamps entering the postal system and throwing them out as already used stamps ???

No, they are processed as known as coming via Post Office and therefore expected to be cancelled.

So it's fine.

Once the PO has accepted it then thats it
The collection driver will collect all the PO mail and take it to the mail centre

They are doing this at the PO because the postmen don't do it half the time, resulting in stuff arriving with "reusable" stamps

I did wonder why my items are getting here with what look like unused stamps.

So its not some secret invisible dye they are now using.

Damn i have a ton of packages / envelopes here with fresh stamps.
