Dodgy ebook/tablet?

Bought it start of May from local game shop when I got it I put a few ebooks and comics on and used it in bed that night then the following night then did not use it for over a month and it didnt turn on so recharged it, when I checked the files on sd card were gone and I had to reformat the micro sd card and put the files back on, since then used it again one night and for about 10 minutes one afternoon and was fine till I put more files on and it worked fine on the pc again but the second it went into the tablet it showed as blank/unformatted.

Now when I put it in the pc it shows as a 1 gig sd card(its a 16 gig one) and refuses to format.

It is possible its a sd card issue but since it works perfect on pc and also on my android phone it seems more likely its a device issue

Its been under 6 months so if I take it back to the shop can I get a refund(I assume they have no replacements as they only ever had 2 in stock)

sounds like a cheap SD card to me that's causing the problems. Have you tried with a different card?

Either that or a counterfeit SD card.
There are an awful lot of them about and many are low capacity cards marked up as much higher storage and they have a "tweak" done to them so that when they are checked, they appear to have the correct capacity.

Yeah I know about fake SD cards, years ago had a few mp4 players that were 1 gig and showed as 8 or 16 gig.

However this is a proper brand, came in retail packaging(I know they can fake packaging too) from a seller with 100% positive and I used it before to reinstall windows which had a over 6 gig partition used and had no problem.

That and I got it from Argos!

Well firstly I would do as others have suggested and try a new card. However if it really is an issue with the tablet then you should take it back to the retailer.

If the fault is inherent (and it will be assumed to be inherent unless they can prove otherwise because it is less than 6 months since you bought it) then they will either have to refund, replace or repair.

You can ask for a refund if you want, but you can't insist on an option that is more expensive to the retailer so they effectively get to pick.
