Lloyds tab loan pip from circa 1998

I had a loan for £5000 from lloyds tab which I believe I had ppi protection on. I have no paperwork or ac number and lloyds have told me after a letter sent by me to them using a template from this site that I'm not entitled to a payout, should I take their word for this or pursue it further? If I should persue how should I do this?
Many thanks.

    No idea yet.

First you need to establish you paid PPI, which you do by sending a SAR and £10 [template on the front page] to Lloyds to see if there is any documentation left which will show you paid it.

  • And you need a reason why you believe it was mis-sold.

    Hi and welcome

What reasons did you apply to your complaint reclaim letter? (if you wish to say).

The decision will be based on what reasons you applied of being mis sold on your complaint letter.
From what I know of, Lloyds TSB usually state they may consider your complaint if you give further information, have they done this?

.........To add to my above post, also as -taf says you can request for all your information on the account by sending a Subject Access letter (SAR) for a one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order. They have up to 40 calendar says to comply.

Or you can just request for a copy of your loan agreement by enclosing £1 cheque or postal order, they have 12 days to comply to this request.

You can try finding out the loan account number by directly calling into your local branch, or if you banked with them, and have any old statements lying around somewhere - where you paid your loan by direct debit, this should confirm the loan account number next to the monthly repayment you made to the loan.

However, some have emailed with details to Lloyds, by giving full name, address, date of birth etc and sometimes they retrieve your details this way.

You can email them if you wish, but its not guaranteed you get feedback this way, good luck.

They don't have to do this becasue it's a closed account, it's got to be the £10 and SAR....

There is no entitlement. You make a complaint making a number of allegations and they investigate that complaint. If they feel your complaint has merit or they find a fault of their own then they refund. If they find no fault, then they do not.

What were your reasons for complaint?
Do you have any evidence to support them?
What actually was the rejection given?

Arh yes missd that part of the age.:o

However, not saying it will be the case for everyone, I was lucky to have received the details/agreements going back to the mid 90's, maybe just one of the fortunate ones, but its not the case for all. (Lloyds too).
