Does anyone know about the closure of this firm? They seem to have closed and not told all their clients. I would have thought that a firm as successful as they said they were wouldn't just close, sounds suspicious but probaly isn't. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on what has happened.

Sorry - the Llandudno firm. They were advertising themselves as specialists in consumer credit and I know took on many cases and were supposed to be very successful.0

unrelated but the ASA just found against a firm that was advertising successful compensation payouts but couldnt provide evidence of any. This is not the first time claims of success are made but yet there is little or none. In media a couple of years ago, one claims company admitted it had not had one success despite signing up tens of thousands of people with an upfront fee on each. Successes are known to be few since the High Court rulings in 2009.
Most claims companies that tried this consumer credit loophole scam have closed down. There are still a few scammers left on that front. Ironically, most of the scam phone calls made nowadays seem to originate in Wales. You should ignore cold callers at the best of times but if they come from Wales you should be on double guard.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Dunstonh's post clearly said ignore cold callers generally, but pointed out that a lot of the known scammers seem to be currently located in Wales.Cockney_Wideboy wrote: »Consumer advice of the day: don't trust the Welsh
He never mentioned the Welsh or said anything about mis-trusting that nationality.0 -

Ok ok...chiiilll Winston... I really wasn't being literal or for a moment suggesting any form of xenophobia from Dunston....I thought it was amusing anyway. Ta for making it absolutely and crystal clear with no room for confusion, misinterpretation or perception tho
ALTHOUGH....
I could get myself into trouble from some of the OTT PC lot here (my employers) if I were to openly suggest that all forms of 409 scams are from Nigerians... In MY experience they do - and it is a widely recognised fact - but apparently I'm not allowed to say that.

Stating an actual fact is fine, what would be wrong is saying all Nigerians were scammers or any Nigerians you meet are going to try and scam you

Taff - not at all - just curious (sorry but as a new user, I am not yet allowed to "quote". Thirty years in the business and I am used to firms being taken over, but closed, no. Watsons stated they were very successful for many clients against the banks and I would simply have thought that a larger firm may have taken them over. The former senior partner has moved to another firm, his business hasn't been incorporated into his new employers business which I find strange. I would buy out a successful business if it improved my own.
Anyway, many thanks for your digging around, I have done some of my own which hasn't actually shed any light on the closure.0 -
Well, as it's the PPI reclaim area, I thought you may have had a complaint in
