Car crash insurance claim by two solicitors?!

Hi all. My gf has been in a crash. Not liable. However, the other driver who's fault it is (yet to be proved but its almost a certainty) has tried counter claiming for injuries against my gf. However, she's tried to do this through two separate injury compensation lawyers!

Surely this is illegal?
Alos, what are the ramifications of this affecting the current counter claim by her that my gf 'crashed into the back of her' - which is completely untrue.

Ideally, we'd like to expose this scam-artist and get the whole thing thrrown out of court as soon as possible.

What are your thoughts and advice everyone?

Your gf should pass all the correspondence she gets over this unanswered to her insurer to deal with.

Why do you think it is illegal? Assuming for a moment the third party is justified, why should they not seek competent representation?

That said, her insurers are here to take the strain and sort out blame - so pass the correspondence to them.
  • You're missing the point, by all means get legal representation but surely going for compensation twice at the same time with two different lawyers is illegal? Why not ten? You could get 10x the payout?

    Understand?

Again, the insurance will sort it out.

It maybe her insurance have appointed someone and independently she's also appointed an ambulance chaser. Or even the first lot have subcontracted it out.

No they won't get paid out twice. Her insurance will sort it.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Your insurance company is unlikely to be daft enough to pay out twice on the same issue.

You look to be missing the point.

You say you want this thrown out of court and to expose a scam, but it's not up to you to get involved in court proceedings,

The advice you have been given is sound. Pass everything to the gf insurer, and she needs her own injury solicitor to act for her.

You may have to push your insurance company so they don't agree to just a 50:50 blame.
If the other party states your gf crashed into the back of them, then your gf may be held 100% liable, depending on what actually happened.
  • she will almost certainly have to pay one of the lawyers for wasting their time (if it's a no win no fee lawyer)

Do you know if they're definately from two different law firms. If so just tell them "look your client is wasting your time, she's already asked another lawyer to represent them".
