Opening a TSB account - No Local Branch

I note that like Lloyds, TSB require both parties to a joint account to attend a branch to prove their identity. Does this effectively mean that you can't set up an account with TSB if you can't get to a local branch even if you are happy to run the account online?

Yes.
But I think for the time being you are still able to use a Lloyds branch for any TSB business.0 -

No you can't. Lloyds staff don't have access to any TSB account details.
For the time being they can process certain transactions (I think withdrawals and possibly deposits) whilst everybody gets used to it - but that's it.0 -

Are you saying that the information on the Lloyds website is wrong? And also wrong in those leaflets stclair posted whilst I was finding the stuff on the web?we are making the changes gradually, so both Lloyds Bank and TSB customers can still use all branches for as some time. We will put a notice in our branches to let you know when services for Lloyds Bank customers in a TSB branch, and TSB customers in a Lloyds Bank branch, will no longer be available.

No I am agreeing with it. I said certain transactions can be processed, which is exactly what the leaflet outlines.
Beyond that they can't do anything because they can't bring up your account details. They couldn't, for example, order you a replacement pin number for a now TSB account.0 -

Nobody in a now Lloyds Bank branch can order a new PIN for a TSB customer. It's impossible to do so.0 -
