I use both at present and find Halifax's online banking much better - easier to use and (in my experience) less chance of payments to other accounts/people being held up for checks. £2/month fee on the Santander account as well. The main thing Sant has going for it is the cashback on direct debits which can easily offset the fee, and one of the best interest rates going at the moment for balances up to £20k. The best option in terms of interest rates will depend very much on your average balance. Below £3k Halifax's flat £5/month wins, above £3k and Santander wins.0

I have multiple of both. Halifaxes just for the monthly fivers, 123s for cashback and interest.
Halifax is now max 1 account, and 123 max 2.0
