claiming money back
I shared a house with my friend for a year in 2011. In the july she moved to australia so i carried on the house by myself and paid for bills etc. The bills were all in her name and I never changed them as we had a direct debit from a joint house account. Edf have now written to me at my new address 18 months later saying that they owe me £400 from the bills i paid from july to january. However the bill is still in her name but it is me that is owed the money as I paid the bills at that time. She is now backpacking round the world and I dont really hear from her very much. How do I get that money back if it in her name?
I would be very grateful for your advice.
Many thanks

If the bill was in her name it's her money I'm afraid.0
