DMP and credit file for new job

Hi,
I have recently had a second interview for a new job, however i have noted that they will also do an experian identity and adverse financial check on me.
I have a pretty bad credit score, but with only defaults, no CCJ's or Bankruptcy or IVA's Im just on a DMP paying a large sum of money a month but never having missed a payment in the 2.5 years i have been on it! I think i have 6.5k of outstanding debts with a mortgage that I have also never missed a payment on.
What will the Employer see when they do these checks and do you think it will stop me getting the job.
The job is in insurance, but with no access to customer data as far as im aware?
Thanks

It depends on the employer and the reason they are doing the credit check. I know a lot of financial institutions will not accept people with bad credit as it poses an extra risk. It would be worth looking at the job spec, person spec and the advert to see if it mentions this. It would probably go in your favour if you contacted them to notify them of this prior to them searching as this will show you are honest and up front.0
