    Evening Money Savers,
Busy day entertaining the Aged P's. Took them shopping. Went in Monsoon......my top favourite shop. Did I buy anything? No! Full marks to me! Didn't buy anything except the knitting needles I need to knit a Christmas present jumper.
Not many small things today - the list:
*Lunch was the lentil & tomato soup I made last week & froze.
*Picked first 2 bunches of grapes from the greenhouse. 12 bunches this year, whooo-hooo! The vine (a 'Black Hamburg') is only in a big plastic pot & apart from a top-dressing of our home-made compost each year (free) & a bit of worm-tea or comfrey liquid (both free) now & again, it has very little attention.
*Picked aubergines, courgettes & herbs for dinner (Lamb & aubergine bake) served it with home grown runner beans.
*Mum & Dad kindly brought us some things - a stack of M&S cat dinners for their ginger friend, a box of plums & damsons (the jam pan will be coming out tomorrow!), a big pile of magazines & insisted on giving me £10 to treat ourselves to coffee & a cake when we are camping next week. How sweet!
*Washed laundry overnight on Economy 7, half powder, but failed to get it dry as the wet weather forecast here for tomorrow came today :-( Have just set up the new heated airer. Haven't tried it out yet. Supposed to use less than 5p per hour to run. Our energy monitor seems to suggest it's using 3p an hour. Economy 7 rate overnight will be half that. Hope we get on with it ok.
*Mum managed to work out how to take in a fairly new top which is now too big. It's tacked, just got to sew it, then can resume wearing it.
*Got out winter clothes bag to see what still fits. Very little! Promptly took a load of stuff off to charity shop. Will have to buy a few warm items as we live in a v chilly house, but am not going to go mad. It's fab being down to a size 16 from a 24, but I'm still aiming for a 14 by Spring, so will make do & just buy what I need.
    *Entered a competition.
    *Posted last ebay parcel.
Think that's everything. Off to cast on new knitting now, & get ready for 'Bake-off'.
