Tuesday 10 September - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. .

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending

  • Morning Ziggy, and morning to all that follow!

It's a day off for me today so I've tried to plan out a busy day to make best use of the time.

*B/L/D from stores for me and fiance
*Put on a pot of coffee to stop me boiling the kettle all day long
    *Check banks/update spend diary/file paperwork
*Post ebay sales and list a few extras
*Go for a long walk and find some local foraging spots
*Sort through clothes and find things to ebay
*Clean office, bathroom, kitchen and lounge - if anyone has any flea tackling tips please share or is the only answer to buy the expensive powders??
*Spend an hour doing maths revision
*Spend an hour doing uni reading
*Spend the rest of the day relaxing with a free ebook and keeping the tv turned off all day!

So I had better get on I guess!

Hope that people have a happy day!
    Baby steps!

  • Hi all, little break from work to check in and see what everyone is up to! I went out blackberry picking last night so I aim to make something with blackberries and probably apples tonight! (most likely a crumble!)

Hubby is away at a conference tonight so just me at home and will have dinner from stores and make lunch for tomorrow at the same time. I'm working in a different office to normal and there isnt any free tea/coffee so I've been buying coffee from Costa (thankfully not high street prices, but still pricey) Might bring a flask tomorrow!

  • Hi everyone,

    Thanks for starting us Ziggy.

    Today's plan:-
    • Making use of free water & cake at work

    • Dinner from meal plan - Stir fry
    • Log calories & exercise on free apps
    • Checked birthday bingo
    • Check online banking
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys

    • Try & convince DH to do his washing on 30 degrees this evening instead of 40
