We have a PC which is set up for a learner and a parent. We run parent controls and something called family safety. When the learner is logged on and tries to get on the internet it gets stuck saying "waiting for google.co.uk" then it eventually says" this page cannot be displayed". But when we are logged on as the parent it is fine. We have a Samsung R519, on Windows 7 professional, on Service Pack 1. It has Internet Explorer 10. the virus checker is Microsoft essentials.
Is anyone able to suggest how I fix it? Many thanks. LSF.

Is Google Blocked - have you tried a different home page?

If you want your child to use the strict filtering level so they only see child-friendly websites, but you’d also like to let them see a certain website that's blocked, you can add the website to their allow list. Or, if you want to block a website that's allowed by their web filtering level, you can add it to their block list.
Here's how to allow or block a website

    1. Under Allow or block a website, type or paste into the box the web address of the website that you want to allow or block.
    2. Select an option from the list, click Add, and then click Allow or Block.
    3. Click Save.

I think Tixen's suggestion is a good place to start - try logging into family safety as a parent, and check the settings for the learner account to see if they are too strict.

If you google 'Family Safety' you should be able to find the familysafety.live.com website. Log in with your Microsoft live or Hotmail email address and you will find the page where you can change settings for the other accounts.
