Sorry I asked, going to be direct with letting agent, will keep anybody else updated on outcome who may be in same or similar predicament

Your attitude isn't helping you. If you don't understand what's on your credit report and what it means for you, you can't make good decisions or effectively exercise your rights.
In the spirit of being helpful, poor account management isn't visible to letting agents. So late payments, defaults, payday loans coming out of your ears etc etc are not visible to them,
Only CCJs, IVA and bankrupcy will give you a problem. If you have any of these 3 honesty as early as possible would be my advice. Some landlords may appreciate honesty and take a chance on you.
But, really, you need to know what info is on your credit record.0 -

I don't take out credit lightly and absolutely hate this subject. 'Doing my time' hate having to rely on my C.R0
