Liposlim credit card scam

Responded to 'free' trial to Liposlim which came up as a pop up on Facebook. It stated it was a free trial of the product and only shipping would be charged. There was no visible terms and conditions, and I have now been told by 'Tesco Bank' that they are unable to refund 4 charges that have been made by the company Liposlim on my account as the terms and conditions of the offer state that this will happen. I have now checked their website and am able to see the terms. EG after 14 days Liposlim will charge £79.99 and continue to do so every month. I did not see the terms and conditions and although I understand I was very stupid, this company are deliberately targeting people on Facebook and there are 100s of people who also did not see the terms and conditions. How do I stand when the bank says they will not refund as there has been no breach of contract or misrepresentation? Any ideas what to do next?

Always be wary for any free trial that asks for credit card information.
Any claim you make will hinge on the T&C being visible when you signed up to the free trial. I would recommend finding the link you clicked through facebook and take screenshots of each page all the way through to where you enter your card details and confirm the trial.
If at no point during this process are the T&C available to view then you may be able to claim misrepresentation. If they are available, even as a small link at the bottom of the page, then you're probably stuffed I'm afraid.
Probably a case of calling someone and asking the question - not sure if that would be Trading Standards or FOS?0 -
Also, for the sake of future readers of this post - keep the !!!! away from this company!
An excerpt from their website:
"An average person in the western works [sic] will eat 4-6 meals/day and have a typical bowel-movement (bm) once a day. This leaves anywhere from 5-8 meals of food sitting in your system."
Also, I think a good rule of thumb for stuff like this is that the more pictures of smiling 'doctors' and claims of 'medically approved' there are on a website, the less likely the product is of having ever been near a scientific test. Spelling mistakes on the website are also a good indication of !!!!!.
Luckily I tend to eat only three 'meals of food' a day, so by system shouldn't be too full...0 -

When you give your card details you tick the box that say you agree to the T/C.
These co's ( plenty of them) also send a email to remind you. As well as a email before they debit your card.
Do you check your span/junk folder?
Well start doing it if you don't
You won't get a refund out of the bank full stop. even if you complained. They can prove you agreed to the T/C (request details from co)
Well as you have now told Tesco to stop further payments. Should they debit again you will be refunded.
I would also contact the co and say you want to return the products for refunds....
Why did it take 4 payments before you called Tesco? That means you have received a further 3 products....
Also when these Co's say "FREE TRIAL" that is exactly what they mean. You are FREE to TRIAL the product for 14 days and then they will charge you the full price. Unless you have contacted them and returned the product.
Think of it like this....
If the product was so good. Why would they be expecting you to pay for P&P :rotfl:Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
There were 2 products on the free trial. After 14 days they charged me for them full price £79.99 each. They have sent a further bottles of each product this incurred further charges. I knew nothing of his till Tesco rang me to say they thought here was fraudulent activity on my card. I cancelled said card immediately. You were right found email in the junk folder. Company now say I have no account so am having difficulty actually engaging in any conversation to actually send Hesse back. They are unopened as we're not ordered. I am really angry that I have been so easily duped, nothing s free expensive lesson learned.0
