What do letting agents see/look for on credit checks?

Just wondering what letting agents can see on a credit check, and what they are looking for?
The reason I ask is I have had a default (just settled it) can they see this default?

If that is true, you have just made my day. I am after this lovely bungalow, just what I've been waiting for and I have one satisfied CCJ. It is marked as satisfied on my credit file, but the agents' referencing company still want a certificate of satisfaction as well. I think they need to get themselves into the 21st century along with the standing order forms that say you have to pay it out a few days earlier than it is due because that's how long it takes to get there. Don't they know that it only takes two hours now, or instant if its the same bank?
Sorry, had to rant.0
