Wrong item sent

Hi everyone, I wondered where I stand with this?
I ordered two coats for my daughter from an online shop. They were £24.99 each. On another site they are £190 each.
I got the dispatched email from the courier and today the delivery arrived.
They sent me two fleece jumpers for boys instead of the jacket.
The website states the jackets details and name, and that they are for girls.
I emailed stating that they had sent me the wrong item and got this reply:
(Unfortunately this is a stock error that we have discovered this morning. I am very sorry that you have received the incorrect items. Would it be possible for you to get the fleeces sent back to us? We will refund your order in full and any postage costs that you incur. Alternatively, I can arrange for a courier to come and collect them from you. We don't have any stock available of the Girl's Arctic Parka to send out in replacement. Again, I am very sorry if any inconvenience has been caused).
I am not happy with this as the item was in stock and they have now removed the jacket completely from their website.
Is there anything I can do? or do I just return and get a refund?

Well the item was not in stock was it? It was an error, they said they don't have stock and removed it from the site.
It happens with internet shopping, things are sometimes out of stock, despite them saying otherwise online.
They have offered you a refund and to pick up the items for you, so what else would you like them to do?0 -
it just annoys me that they do the "item not in stock" trick because of their pricing error, and then send me something that is not even for a girl!0

Maybe it is not a trick, maybe they genuinely do not have any? The retailer response comes across to me as polite and apologetic - I would not automatically assume they are lying just because it is not the response you want.0 -
I am not assuming anything, the item they sent me has a completely different stock number on the invoice to the one on the website. I will send it back for a refund anyway thanks for your input

If they have totally removed it, rather than re pricing, it sound like they are telling the truth.
A warehouse mix up, it sounds like.0 -

It's not a "trick", simply a human error somewhere.
If they had noticed the pricing error before sending the goods, all they would have needed to do was to inform you of the error and refund the money paid and they wouldn't have been out of pocket in any way, and there wouldn't have been any need for them to send something different.
As they have inadvertantly sent the wrong item, they will have to pay for the costs incurred in shipping them to you and also for returning them.
As others have said. Why would they completely remove the item from their website if they had some to sell?I am not happy with this as the item was in stock and they have now removed the jacket completely from their website.
In all honesty, you must have known that a mistake had been made somewhere as there is a huge difference between the price they were advertising and that charged by other retailers.0
