Refund for an online order

Made an order online to be delivered to the retailers store.
Then I decided to cancel the order and asked for a refund. Retailer says I have to take it up with the store.
Store says I have to turn up in person at the store to cancel cos tills cant process a card refund over the phone for more than £50.
Surely, the contact centre should be able to deal with it over the phone?

Yes, the online store should process the refund but wouldn't it just be less hassle to go to the store instead? At least you'll have the refund there and then instead of having to wait (potentially up to 30 days) to get it refunded via the online store.
  • The store is quite a way away
