Hi guys,
New workout review today! Link is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_J8btnIEKQ
This is from a trainer called Tiffany Roche, and the by-line is "Lose inches off your waist by shaking your hips!" Unfortunately, there's not much hip-shaking in this workout. It's mostly based on what I call waist-rockers, where you bend at the waist to the side. Now, it's a great exercise, but spending five minutes of a ten-minute workout on these isn't particularly imaginative. There were also some hip swings and a very quick back exercise.
I'm sure my sides will feel a bit sore tomorrow, but I didn't so much as break a sweat. It wasn't tough enough a workout, I found it quite dull and I still had my hoodie on after the ten minutes.
Cons:- Too repetitive
- Not challenging enough

Okay, I managed another one squidged in between C25K!

I remember doing this years ago on VHS so it's a bit old-schoolBilly Blanks developed Tae-Bo as a mix of tae kwon do and boxing, I believe, and to be accessible to everyone. He's very upbeat and motivating!
Pros:- It's only 8 minutes
- You feel pretty good at the end of it
- It's a good mix of exercises
- You don't need to be super-fit to do it
- You won't get that much fitter if you're only doing this as it's so short, but it's great for a fitness boost
- Cool down doesn't involve much stretching

Hi guys and gals,
Just to let you know I'm heading off to the Emerald Isle on holiday until 30th September. I'll try and continue to post reviews, but as I'm staying with my boyfriend's family I really don't know how much free time I'll have.
In the meantime, please let us all know if you've tried any of the videos, and feel free to post your own reviews too!

Aaaaaaaaaaand I'm back!
Had a lovely holiday with the bf and his family. I want to move to Ireland and marry him, but don't tell him that
Anyway, I actually got back last week but between working a shedload and battling an old injury (shin splints from ballet days), I wasn't able to post until today.
It's good to be back working out. Today's link is here:

This is a quick abs workout consisting of four circuits of three exercises.
There's not a great deal to say about this workout. It works the front of your abs ie. the muscles you see in a six pack, but completely ignores your obliques and intercostals (the muscles that criss-cross your trunk). It also doesn't include any back exercises, and if you perform lots of ab exercises without working your back you risk injury through a strength imbalance.
To his credit, the trainer does place quite heavy emphasis on this being part of a workout as opposed to stating "this will give you a six pack".
If you love rock music (as I do), the music choice will help you get through the workout. If not, it'll drive you mad, especially as once the music kicks in you can't hear the trainer very well.
All in all, it was fine as long as you don't just do this workout. And stretch your abs after doing the video (the trainer doesn't mention that!)
Pros:- It's quick and simple
- It'll certainly make you feel the burn
- It doesn't work enough muscles
- If you don't like rock music you won't enjoy it

Morning guys,
So today I stuck on my workout gear the second I got out of bed. I find getting exercise 'out of the way' on the days I'm not really feeling it really helps my mood and gives me a good sense of achievement to start the day withand, suffice to say, I wasn't feeling it this morning - my bed was so comfy! - but I'm so glad I did it, because it's a good one!

Btw, posting from my kindle today so if the link doesn't work, let me know and I'll upload another from my pooter later!
There is a very quick warm up, then a basic workout of 10 different exercises, from the well known (butt kicks) to some I'd never heard of before (the charmingly named 'salute groomers'). You perform each exercise for a minute, followed by 30 seconds rest. You finish up with a quick stretch cool down.
I liked this one! In the video there is both a male and female trainer which gives the workout a great dynamic, and they both give advice throughout. The guy in particular always tells you to keep going just when you need it. One thing that did grate on me: the female trainer pulls the Jillian Michaels trick of 'checking on the others' when she's tired! You also see the guys in the back struggling, which I quite like : at least it's not just me that finds this hard!!
The exercises are well varied - lots of high intensity cardio, no boring ab exercises, and while they advocate long rest periods, I continued marching/jogging on the spot in the 30 second break.
Having looked at the warm up first, I did a few minutes on my own because the warm up is not long enough for the intensity of exercise you'll be doing, in my opinion, and as usual I lengthened the cool down to include more stretches, although I appreciated that they placed a lot of emphasis on stretching in the cool down, especially as there are three guys in the video and men have a tendency to skip on stretching!
Again, the music is rock-based, but the guys have done a really professional sound job, it never intrudes on the workout too much and you can always hear the trainers clearly.
This is a hard workout but it's short, thoroughly enjoyed it and unlike other short workouts, this has made me sweat!!!
Pros:- Friendly, encouraging trainers
- good variation of moves
- Emphasis on stretching in the cool down
- Short, intense workout
Cons:- female trainer gives up a couple of times
- not enough time for warm up/cool down
Time to hit the shower, have a great day everyone xx2019 Aim: Save £10,000
