Hi all, this is a thread to discuss the MSE blog:
Lloyds and TSB split – so which bank am I with again?
"I’m not at my best on a Monday morning. So the last thing I want is a bank-based panic ..."

I'd hope that most regular users of this forum are fully aware of their banking arrangements and any notified changes to them.0

Verde is LBG's code name for the divestment project. It has been mentioned in a number of articles but I wouldn't expect customers to have paid any attention to it!You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0

We have entered a new and very seriously worrying stage if an MSE staff member is not able to establish what Project Verde is.
Even more so if they don't read the communication from their bank when they should be well aware (by nature of being on the MSE staff, as well as having free access to the Press which has been reporting about the Lloyds/TSB split [aka Project Verde] for months) that there is some sort of a big change about to happen in the UK banking world.
Apart from all that, the changes are very simple to comprehend if you do want to comprehend them.
Ban me if you want, MSE, for criticising one of your staff members. But hopefully you will be big enough to admit the blog of Charlotte Burns on Lloyds and TSB split was not the blog of a grown-up saver.
No point crying over spilt milk, as in low savings interest rates. These are with us right now. I don't like the low interest rates any more than any of the rest of us do but there are still ways of getting 3% AER these days, you just have to shop for them.0 -
I'm amazed anyone doesn't know by now, considering Lloyds TSB sent out letters to anyone affected quite some time ago. The number of people only taking action NOW is quite staggering.urs sinserly,

I had a letter a few months ago about the proposed happenings, then this week another to say that I am going to be with the TSB side of things, (although dont use the account, so it go dormant). xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

To be fair, I can think of absolutely no reason why customers should have had to be familiar with the term verde, and it was wrong to have sent text messages using that internal phraseology0

I occasionally send money by Faster Payments to members of family who banked with Lloyds-TSB and are now banking with either of them. Will future faster payments to those who are switched to TSB be able to receive faster payments with old Lloyds-TSB sort and account numbers ?
Will the non-existant FP recall system be inforce when genuinely ignorant family members of the five million ex Lloyds-TSB customers, try to send money to loved ones this Christmas ?

The sort codes and account numbers have not changed, and TSB can send and receive Faster Payments just like Lloyds do.0
