Fees for Plan of Kitchen Extension
ToneB
Hi, I'd be grateful for any advice on rough cost of plans by an Architect for a kitchen extension design.
We have an existing structure that needs quite a lot of work to modify: 3m wide by 4m high. There will be some structural work needed - insertion of RSJ, new roof.
We have a quote from an Architect who comes recommended and wanted to get a sense if it represents value for money. We live in London.
Fees are:
Initial Survey - £350
Design Sketches - £450
Final Design for submission to Planning - £275
Working Drawings for Building Regs - £1600
Tender Doc for Builder - £200
Any feedback would be great
Thanks!

I paid £1350 for design / plans and building warrant - this fee included council charges and £570 for structural calculations inc insurance for foundation and beams.0

I'd suggest more quotes. That does look pricey but London will probably explain that!Thinking critically since 1996....0

Apart from the "Working Drawings for Building Regs", that does sound reasonable, especially from an Architect.
Btw, do any of those fees include local authority application fees?0 -
I would agree - purely for comparison purposes.somethingcorporate wrote: »I'd suggest more quotes.
