where can I buy cheap coconut milk and cherry liqour?

Hey guys,

Where's the cheapest place to buy tins of coconut milk ? Seems to have become really expensive lately. I'm after a decent brand with high coconut to water ratio.

Many thanks

  • where's a good place to buy cherry liquor or Kirsch ? It's for baking with, not drinking, so dont care about quality and not looking for a massive bottle as wont use it all.

    Thanks !

Lidl, the only place I'd buy it now. Has masses more coconut to water (82% coconut) than any of the big brands. Comes in a black labeled can, it's called "Vitasia"

Last check it was 99p, but I bought tonnes of tins when it was on a half price offer. I'd guess it's roughly 99p still, but I can look when I pop up there in a little while

  • THANKYOU ! :O) It's still good value at 99p. I bought some Blue dragon last week (which is only 52%) from Co-Op...cost me nearly £2 for one tin !!

Keep an eye open for Taste of Asia weeks, that's when they reduce it. Off out now, I'll check it while I'm there and reply later (unless someone else confirms in the mean time).

  • What I have just done is by Maggi coconut milk powder from approved food for £1 (dramatically reduced) because then you can make your own milk or cream. Its nice and I used to buy it but its quite expensive. So I've bought 4 boxes!

    Agree with this -

You can currently get 2 * 300g boxes for £1
  • Thanks but not sure if that would work for me. I have been using tinned coconut milk (minus the water) to make dairy-free whipped cream. Needs to be the fatty stuff in order to acheive a firm enough consistency for piping onto cakes. Not sure if the milk powder would produce the same result.
