Front Door - bought and fitted

Hello,

could anyone give me some advice on how much I should expect to pay for a new front door and installation? Including any changes they'd need to make. I'd imagine they'd need to replace the frame as the door is very old.

Any recommendations on companies appreciated too.

We're looking at GRP Doors rather than Wood or uPVC.

We live in Surrey (South East)

Thanks

  • Mine were both old too ( yes I have 2 front doors )

    Just for a rough price...

    Urn Door Knocker£5.87 1 £5.875
    Lever Insurance Mortice Deadlock£21.52 2 £43.04
    Auto-Deadlocking Nightlatch £42.08 2 £84.16
    Door Sill and Rain Deflector£16.63 1 £16.63Sunningdale
    PVCu Plus Door£214.34 1 £214.34Sunningdale
    PVCu Plus Door£214.34 1 £214.34

Roughly £580 Then I paid about £150/180 ( day work local tradesman ) for them both to be fitted, lockes fitted and changed. Door etc was from wickes. http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/187662/?source=123_75

  • Hi, we're in Surrey too and in the summer had a rotten old wooden front door and frame completely replaced with a lovely 'french navy' composite door complete with handles, spy-hole viewer for c£1,100.

The door was British made http://www.rocal.co.uk/composite-doors.html and meets all environmental and security standards. The local company that supplied and fitted them was fantastic and offer full after service support. It was great to deal with people who believe in their product and in doing a great job.

I can DM you the company if you're interested.

Depending on quality and amount of door furniture and glass options: £600 - £1200 fitted for a reasonable front door, fitted price.

we're having ours replaced at the moment. Its £580 thats for new frame, door (no glass), letter box etc, fitting and the VAT
glass in the door would have been £650
