anyone dealt with appliances.co.uk need advice.

Hi all, I ordered a washing machine on Friday, showing as in stock from appliances.co.uk, I even chose a delivery day. I chose the specific model after a lot of research on which site, and this one is a best buy.

On Saturday we got an email telling us that the model was out of stock but that they would upgrade us to a better model. I can't find any reviews of the offered model, and really want to one I've chosen.

I have since looked up reviews of this company, and this proctice seems to be the norm, advertise the best buys, then say they are out of stock. I have emailed back to say we want a refund not a different model, and tried at least 10 times to call them. They never answer the phone, othet than a message saying "we will answer, you are important" and after 6 mins it's cut off.

I'm a bit concerned after reading that other struggled to get their money back. I paid by credit card, and have called them, they say they can't do anything really.

can anyone help as to what I can do next. I know it's only a few days, but I really need to get this ordered elsewhere as my old washer is broken!

Thanks

Ask for a chargeback on your credit card.

They've always been pretty good for me. Oops, appliances online have always been good for me I mean.

    Hi

I have not dealt with them but I ordered appliances for my house about 6 things in all from ao.com and they were absolutely amazing, free next day delivery and no hassle, infact I was looking for a fridge which was not in stock and the advisor told me she will call me back with the delivery dates and she did not and when I Called them back they arranged for a nominated day delivery free of charge accepting there fault. If you do get your money back try them, they are really worth giving a call.
  • Hi both, thanks for speedy replies. Halifax credit cards really weren't helpful on Saturday when I called to ask them to cancel the transaction. I will try again and use the term "chargeback" thanks. Will also check out ao,com. I've seen the right model on the good old Coop site as well.
  • In the interest of fairness, thought I'd best update this post. I got through to a human at appliances.co.uk this afternoon, who is processing my refund. I have also just received an email to confirm this.
