Shipping to The USA

I am selling a pair of designer shoes which are listed as UK only ... quite simply because it is easier.
I had a question asking if would consider sending the item to The US.
I replied that I didn't know enough about postage and more importantly customs for America, so declined the invitation.
I have now received another message, stating all I (as the seller) should be worried about is the postage, any customs will be dealt with by the buyer.
is this true ?
Second question ... what would be the best option for postage there, courier or RM
Box size is about 32 x 32 x 180 (cm)
weight is 1.23 kg
thanks

32 x 32 x 180 cm?
Are you sure you've got that right? 180cm is 1.8 metres!

Thanks for the info.
I've actually just returned from my local P O and their price would be about £23 (Airsure) with insurance up to £200, which seems OK ... Anyway, I'm not paying it.0 -

I don't know which PO told you there is £200 compo with Airsure, but whoever they are, they are wrong.
Just as an aside, it is the buyer who pays the postage.0 -
Compensation on Airsure and ISF can be increased to £500 for a small extra fee so WLM21 and their Po are correct.theonlywayisup wrote: »I don't know which PO told you there is £200 compo with Airsure, but whoever they are, they are wrong.

No, their PO according to their post said...I've actually just returned from my local P O and their price would be about £23 (Airsure) with insurance up to £200, which seems OK ... Anyway, I'm not paying it.
UP to £200 is not an option. It's £50 at base level and the enhancement is £500. £200 does not come into it.0 -
Thanks for all the replies .. in the end the person from The USA didn't win the auction.0
