in Credit cards
My partner and I are moving into a new house and would like a 0% credit card for home furnishings (etc) with the intention of squirreling the cash away in our ISAs until it needs paid.
My worry is failing a credit check at the new address as we will have literally have just moved in.

My worry is failing a credit check at the new address as we will have literally have just moved in.
Key points to mention:
- We have both have good credit ratings
- We have recently been approved for a reasonable sized mortage based on our earnings
- We still hold the previous address, so checking there would still be an option. I have concerns about changing the address on the credit card so soon after it is opened, do companies recheck at new address within a set period of time? What are the repercussions if we fail?
TIA

Why not apply now before you move, once you have got the CC a change of address should be fineOwing on CC £00.00 :j

Either apply now using your old address or wait until you are on the electoral roll at the new address - this could take a while though. Obviously don't apply at the old address if you have already updated all of your other credit accounts to the new one.
While being on the electoral roll isn't absolutely necessary to get a credit card it is one of the things that all lenders will check for. Best case scenario is that they ask you to prove residence by providing utility bills etc. Worst case is that they refuse the credit - no further repercussions beyond that though.0 -
if you have already updated all of your other credit accounts to the new one.
Since updates take a few weeks to a few months to appear on your credit report, it shouldn't matter. Also, it's ok to have accounts at multiple addresses. You should use the one where you're on the electoral roll if possible.0
