Nightmare neighbour - demands I cut branches of bush.

Normally fair enough I'd do it without a problem.
But this particular neighbour is a complete nightmare. Does everything he can to make things difficult for some reason. In the past hes complained about everything such as:-
1. Tried to stop me converting my garage (why?).
2. Shared driveway - moans if a delivery van blocks it for 30 secs.
3. Moans my builder is making a mess on his land (hes not).
Anyway, hes now, rather rudely demanded I cut the branches of a bush overhanging his fence (by about 6").
Should I do or let him do it?

If you let him do it, do you trust him not to butcher it?0

If he does it, he'll throw the brances on your side anyway to clear by the sounds of it, so you might as well do it yourself. At least you're guaranteed a better job.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

He is entitled to cut back any branches that overhang on to his side. As previously mentioned he is the supposed to throw them back over for you to dispose but if you let him do it then he may dispose of them himself.0

The neighbour is not supposed to throw them back, rather they must offer them to the person who owns the bush...but the owner can refuse to take them leaving the neighbour to dispose of them.
As said by someone else, if things are tense already do you trust them to do it right and not wreck bush0 -
Would you be able to see it if he did cut it badly? If he's caused you problems in the past I'd tell him to do one and let him cut the stuff on his side of the boundary. If he does chuck them over to your side report him for fly tipping! Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Ask him if he likes to travel or if he likes sex...............0

Just cut them and make the first step to improve the relationship.0

He has the right to ask you to cut it back if it encroaches on his property, after all it IS your bush, or he can do it as has been stated by others, after he has requested you do it  Signature removed0 -
Agree with gmgmgm. Surely it's your duty as a good neighbour to keep your bushes/trees neatly trimmed so that they don't encroach on your neighbour's property?
Perhaps the neighbour is cheesed off about something you've done in the past?
You could try and mend the relationship by trimming the bushes and having a chat with the neighbour to find out why he/she seems to be aggrieved.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0
