Is it already working with another broadband provider? If so, you should be able to replace the username & password with the new settings from Supanet.

No--I have a wireless router from eclipse but the service has been so bad for so long:mad: that I have given up on them and terminated the contract early.
Supanet offered a cheap no frills deal which I took ,but I need a modem.
I have an old one from my wannadoo days--hence the question:beer:

If it's a broadband USB modem then it should in principle work, but some ISP's have additional requirements (eg ADSL2+) so best try and see how you get on. You could also look for software updates in case that helps.

Do you still have the wireless router?
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Yes, I've still got it but I expect eclipse are going to want it back at some point,so I was going to use my old adsl speedtouch if the set up isn't too tricky.

If the router isn't locked to eclipse, it may be easier to change the config of that, and then move to the modem if they ask for it back (they might not). Which router is it?

there may be a program you can download from netgear which will auto detect all of your settings (except password) for your new service. that is what i got with my linksys router anyway.
