How much to budget - 1 bed flat.

Hi all,
I'm trying to work out a budget for renting a flat on my own.... however I've been lodging (bills all included) for the last couple of years and before that I was in a house share, so I have only a vague idea of what to budget for gas and electricity for a flat.... water, c tax and internet are all much easier to find values for.
I was thinking of budgeting about £100 a month for both. Is this realistic, (I like my house quite cold so probably will not use much heating unless it gets very cold)? I know this is a bit of a how long is a piece of string question, as it depends on so many different things but a rough guide would help me work out how much rent I can afford.

Assuming your flat is reasonably insulated, £100 monthly should suffice for gas and electric.
Many flats however don't have gas, and all electric is more expensive.
Don't forget to budget for water.0 -
Remember water indeed. It costs me £11pm in a one bedroom flat and I've very watchful of the water I use. Washing loads have much more influence on use than showers, I've found.0

£100 should be more than enough.
I'm on my own in a 2-bed flat and my current summer bills are around £55 pm
Once I click the gas CH on sometime in November they'll shoot up to £100+ or so for a few months.0 -
Thanks everyone, that gives me a good start on a budget.0
