Hi,

I would like send some money abroad using Western Union.

I'm I correct in saying their wouldn't be any charges if I use Aqua Reward card or Halifax Clarity Reward card?

Will this be classed a cash or purchase transaction?

Thanks
MS

Thanks for replying. Some time ago Halifax/Aqua updates its
Terms and Conditions which stated Money Transfers will be treated as purchases.

I also remember reading on MSE that money transfers will mean payments to
    Western Union.

Doesn't Clarity not charge for cash transactions?

While it doesn't make a charge for cash withdrawals, it does charge interest from day one. There is no interest free period for cash.

To make a WU transaction I would withdraw cash on the Clarity instead of using it to spend. Over several days if necessary.

May I just check, you do know that sending money by Western Union you cannot trace it, or recover it later, don't you? It's useful for sending cash to your offspring who've spent their savings too quickly in a gap year, but a terrible way to do anything involving selling to or buying from someone whose ID you are not 100% certain of.

You aren't paying advanced fees for a loan, helping someone to move funds out of their country, or paying for an online girlfriend to come and visit, are you?

I was just about to ask the exact same things... although I think some WU agents have an "idiot test" now to check for these kind of things ;-)
