Advice needed

Hi,
I'm getting married soon and i'm trying to find out how our benefits will change.I'm getting ESA and in the support group,my partner doesn't claim any benefits for herself, she does get child tax credit, family allowance and carers allowance for her children,What we're trying to find out is how much we are going to lose.I've looked online but couldn't find anything that made any sense

Are you not living together now? Is your ESA contributions or income based?

It sounds like your wife to be gets a fair amount of benefits! Does she work?

Are you sure she is not receiving Income Support as well as Carers Allowance, and help with housing costs/ council tax?

Any means tested benefits will be reassessed to take into account your joint income. Any loss will be countered by the savings made by only running one household.
  • no she's not receiving income support or any help with housing cost or council tax

Put both your benefits into that and it should help you work it out.
