Carpetright fitters

Ok I have read all the bad reviews (after I bought of course:o) but need a bit of advise.
I am having some vinyl floor fitted this week in the kitchen, as they charge to remove old flooring I figured I could whip up the old lino myself, which I have done to a point. My existing lino goes under the units, I am guessing it wouldn't be a huge job to take the plinth off and pull it out but I knowing my luck the kitchen will fall down.
Will the fitters do this or will they charge extra (like they seem to for everything else!)

You should check with them. The may be assuming the job involves the laying of the flooring only.
I would take the plinths off and remove the old lino. Your units may be resting on the old lino in which case just cut around the legs of the units. There should be enough space behind the plinth up to the legs of the units for the new lino to fit under.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -
I have had no problems with carpet right fitters . Any one who says they are bad is making a huge sweeping statement.
Surprised about some parts of your OP . When the 'surveyor' came to measure floor , they closely inspected the actual concrete floor and advised me about having a latex covering . Is your floor wood/ concrete ?
If the fitters arrive and you then discover problems ??0 -

The floor underneath is very (very) old vinyl type tiles, the old lino was laid on top. The chap that came to measure up said there was no need for any kind of underlay although I cant remember him checking what was actually there, and I had no idea what was under there as it was down when I moved in.
I will give them a call tomorrow to check what I should do.
My DIY skills are very basic unless its sticking up IKEA units or wafting a paint brush around and I don't trust myself not to do anything stupid while trying to take the plinths off!0 -
old school fitters would probably do it free of charge, where as the rest will be split some will charge you the rest will walk away , scared incase they do some damage that they will be accountable for. As for
Carpetright fitters they are like all fitters in and out a house a soon as possible , the more carpets you fit the more money you make. It's as simple as that.0 -
My mate used to fit for carpet right, post 5 sums it up very well.
They often charge circa £40 to clear a room0 -

And they are ALL there , unbroken and stuck down well ?Carpetright fitters they are like all fitters in and out a house a soon as possible
And your problem is what??
If the vinyl is correctly laid , does it matter if it is done quickly?0 -
To keep the cost competitive and to make the initial cost outlay less they quote for laying lino and any other charge including removing the old lino, laminate etc will be additionally chargeable, expect to be charged for disposing stuff, moving furniture, nailing down the floor where required etc ...
Best thing would be to get a quote to include all charges with charges broken down for the services that you will need.0 -

Is your lino supposed ot extend under the untis? Because they could just butt right up to the plinths otherise.
I had carpetright out last week to fit a carpet in my MILs house, they were in and out in half an hour, fab job and i'd use them again.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
