Abbey - trouble getting hold of them

Recently applied for an Abbey card (after they took it back in house from MBNA) but have heard nothing. So I've tried ringing them, but they keep putting me through to MBNA, who naturally have no record of my application!

Does anyone have a contact number for Abbey credit cards that'll get me through to the right person?

Thanks in advance

Left it a while, as I was away on honeymoon, but finally got hold of Abbey this week. Apparently, credit card apps with Abbey take up to 4 weeks now, as they are processed in Madrid... how crap is that?!?!

The new credit card is on sale now, but none are actually being issued just yet. I've got a feeling it's the 9th (Monday) that it all starts but don't quote me on that! Also the applications will be being done live in branches or over the phone so the decisions will be instant, not sure where the 4 weeks came from (or the Madrid bit!!)

The number I use is 08459 724 724. I have a thread on the Abbey card a couple below yours (depending when you look of course, LATE FEE)...but I KNOW its ENTIRELY my fault:rolleyes: I've learned to accpet that now:D

That's what they told me when I phoned to query not hearing any thing from them, 3 weeks after the application....

With Santander taking over, it wouldn't surprise me. I also get the impression that taking the credit cards back from MBNA was done pretty sharp, for whatever reason.
