I recently have missed a couple of payments on crddit cards which are now paid up but I wanted to change to 0% with a balance transfer is it possible or am I thoroughly black listed ?

One payment late on each of two cards?
Two payments late on each of two cards?
Or something else?
Consecutive months?...or interspersed with payments on time?
How recent is "recently"?0 -
A payment on one card this last month now updated and another payment about 2 months ago now updated. But generally paid on time .0

Do you know your credit score? if not sign up for one like noodle for free. once all the missed payments register, this may take a month or so, you will see the damage.
Then use MSE CC soft search, you may get a fluid card or similar, if you were snow white before the missed payments. but missed payments never help.0 -

If you want to boost your confidence, then do as the poster above suggests. However, these pre-checkers are not 100% accurate so don't build your hopes up.
Just out of interest, were the reasons for the missed/late payments down to a lack of funds or just plain forgetfulness? If the latter, then maybe consider a direct debit going forward?
Good luck!0 -
Just checked out the fluid option but it is an mbna card and this is one of the cards I defaulted on . Should I try or not to proceed with my application I dont want to worsen the situation by applying and getting refused and it affecting my credit score even more?0

Paying Late & 'Defaulted' are 2 quite different terms - particularly as you say 'generally paid on time'..
If the accounts are still allowing purchases then Mbna in particular will offer new deals after the account has been in use for a few months..
Mbna would flag that you already have an account (through different trading 'styles'), and so may refer any application ~ I had this when opened Virgin card a few years ago.. so they may only allow it with a 'sharing' out of credit limit...0
