Disposable camera - developing film

When moving house I came across 4 fully used disposable cameras which are probably about 15 years old (!) A few questions:

1. Does anyone know if these are likely to still be ok to be developed, or would the film have perished etc by now? They' ve been in a box indoors...

2. Does anyone know what is the best / cheapest way to have them developed? Do I send them away, or take them into town or what? Any deals anyone knows about?

3. Can I get digital photos instead of old style hand-held ones?

And by the way, I know this isn't very techie, if anyone has a suggestion for a more appropriate forum then feel to move it - I couldn't find a sensible place for it! :)
