Been charged for text messages by third party

Hello All, In July. I received a random text message claiming I was chosen as a customer to be entered into a draw for an IPad. Because I very recently upgraded from an Iphone 4 to an Iphone5 I assumed the text message came from Apple itself and believing the text message was harmless and not thinking twice I texted back 85222 to put myself in the draw.
I checked my bill for last month and I discovered to my horror I was charged £27 in text bills alone and I have been charged for this month too. After, looking on Google I immediately texted back 85222 STOP ALL. Now, fingers crossed im not going to be charged anymore.
I then contacted the company in question Eye Games. Asking for a refund. Because, I have never seen or accepted any terms or conditions about joining a subscription. I never signed for anything. I was conned into replying to a "free message".
They refused me any refund claiming they said in the message you will be charged I believe £4.50 for each message. Now, I have deleted those message so I dont know if that's true or not. I am so angry about this and it takes a lot to get me angry I believe I have been conned. If there anything more I can do about getting a refund? And reporting this scam?
Sorry to harp on but thanks anyway.

You can always start talking to Phone Pay Plus (the worst Qango-name ever), they at least have the power to fine companies if they're acting illegally0

Thanks Paddy and Earthstorm. I'm pretty sure the company is located in the UK. I contact phoneplus and see what they say.0

I have set a complaint in process with 'numbercheck'
This is what they have said..
"We have received your complaint. We will contact the company who runs the shortcode and act on your behalf to obtain the best possible resolution for you.
The company is likely to contact you on the number you provided to settle any issues you have.
The company will aim to get your issues resolved in less than 5 working days from now."
So fingers crossed I will get a refund..I will let you know how I get on as soon as I hear anything0
