Well it was back when the big thorntons were a penny, hadn't had a problem before an old chap works on the Ss and was normally friendly I bought 6 no probs went back bought a few more still no probs left went home,2 days later went back was just doing a normal shop well with a few cheap surf liquids when he came over said your the lady with chocolates I blushed and smiled he then called over his super who demanded to know how I know they were a 1p ect gave me a real grilling I hastily paid for said shopping while they muttered to each other with much head shaking I left but now every time I go back to the self scan either the old guy stands next to me or mysteriously another member of staff needs to tidy something right next to the scanner, to be honest I thought I was being paranoid until hubby came with me and asked what was going on v embarrassing0

I think most of us are in sort of the same postiion Sad_Dad, our OHs just don't get it.
Mine does not like spending money unless it is on beer or his hobby.
The credit card bill came through the other day, (we do pay it off each month) lots of amazon buys I did not recognise. Got him to check, all correct but £60 on books and board/card games was a bit  He pointed out I had spent much more, BS orders (for presents), Ts direct printer inks, Naked wine, Ts wine order with the new customer code. was about double his spend but if I did not make the savings he would not be able to indulge.
The storing of everything until it's used causes a few rumbles but he is gradually getting used to it. Even to my astonishment going to the Ts food evening on his own with the promise of freebies.
We are 2 totally different people than when we first met (it's our 25th wedding anniversary next year) but I think we compliment each other well and have allowed each other to grow into the people we are today having gone in slightly different directions but ending up in the same place. A few struggles on the way but Yin and Yang and all that.
Oh dear that has turned into a bit of a story. But I hope you all know what I mean.
I also did the credit card deep analysis this month as the bill was big and I'd been giving Oh earache
. Over the last month OH had a new sat nav - the very cheap one from Halfords, bought various e books from Amazon and got a new Suit for work when Marks had the 20% off sale - also got a razor but that was with nectar points.
Then I had a look at my own personnel spending - pink jacket from Primark, dress and 2 silk cardigans from Oxfam and 2 hairdressing bills - so my own spending was far worse than OHs.
So now I bite my tongue when he says he has bought another 99p e book from Amazon!“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0
