Alone after my mother died when I was 8 so we would shop on morning for bread then school and shop for tea on return from school ,then when tea was over and pots done back to the shops for supper and the cat and dog food was the order of the ritual of several trips to the co,rner shop ......but the classic was when Safeway started there bogof so say he wanted domestosp and I would take him 2 and say you got 2 domestos they on special offer buy one get one free he used to say I don't want the free one I just want one you have the free one ...but dad I already got 2 as I got the bogof and as if humiliated he used to say well am not having the free one.......I wonder what he would think of me now that I have food in the garage red wine loo rolls.jaffa,s etc etc
When I first left school in the 70's I worked for a while in a little corner shop. A lot of the elderly people who came in were like this. I remember getting quite exasperated one day when I tried to tell a customer that it was actually cheaper to buy a big tin of baked beans than a little tin but she was having none of it!0 -

Woohoo, MSL app updated for me too.
I know the offers are mostly only 25% but that combined with the APG / TPP could make stuff 75% off if the offers are right
Fingers crossed they bring back more 50% ones towards Christmas :jHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!

They're talking about it on bbc as well this morning.
I'm hoping the shops start doing their 'green thing' and give away free bags for life for a while.
The local shops give away their fabric ones when they have a promotional thing on (usually with leafletts in) so I have a few of those I may have to decorate to make them look betterHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
