The pizzas come back as n/a in Morries
That could be because- Ts no longer seem to think the pizzas are comparable,
- their instore checkers didn't scan it on their most recent visit,
- Morries don't sell that pizza anymore
The price displayed under T on the PP is still the full, non-meal deal price. A proper fix would involve sorting that out so that pizzas cost £2 each on the comparison and sides £1 each (as an example)
The glitch was that the meal deal price is not taken into account so in that respect pizzas and curries are both still technically glitching, there just isn't a return on the pizzas at the moment because no-one else is cheaper.
It might work again after the next Morries price collection is done...
I'm just reading Aau1's posts as they are very interesting and he seems to know a lot;).
This (when it compared to M's price) wasn't a glitch. It was the proper operation of the T&Cs:
"What are the restrictions?
15. It is important to us to ensure that the price comparisons we make are fair. As a result, price comparisons ... are based on what the customer actually buys ... . This includes price cuts and most promotions. For example:- Half price and buy-one-get-one-free promotions whether at T esco or at a competitor are included as they allow fair comparisons to be made.
- Linksave (e.g. meal deals or “buy cheese and get the crackers free”), category-wide (e.g. “buy 6 bottles of wine and get 5% off”), and multiple offers on the same range (e.g. “buy 2 for £3 or buy 5 for £6”) are excluded because they do not allow fair comparisons to be made irrespective of which retailer is running the promotion."
I like it when they excluded their own promotion but not the price of the competitor!:D
It's the same situation where T compares to cheaper prices of own-brand products of competitors (that are within the 10% weight range) but without adjusting the competitor price upwards for weight when T's product is slightly larger. It does a straight price comparison as that's "fair" and 'doesn't favour any one retailer'. As that's T's view, continue to buy own-brand items that are larger in T (but where the competitor's product is lower in weight, but not by more than 10%, and lower in price than T) - but do not, of course, buy own brands in T where T is lower in weight/volume and compare those as the price match you'll get won't take account of the lower amount of the product that you're getting from T.
(Surely it does favour retailers? It favours T when their product is lower in weight, and favours the competitor when T is more in weight. However, T disagrees and I'm really not one to argue - if we buy slightly-higher weighted products in T that compare at straight lower price to elsewhere.)0 -
