Thats one of the great things about this form of marketing, every single transaction can be accounted for, every payment can be logged to a person, buying habits can be formed and all this info can be used to improve the way things are done. One of the big things is to make sure that the offers hit as many people as possible, rather than a few benefiting repeatedly. A bit like someone emptying the supermarket of mags to get the vouchers - not strictly fair, but they know it happens, they just cant stop it. With the cashback system they can stop it, because they can trace every single action. They can also log your IP address, I am sure they can compare images fairly easily, they could be logging other items purchased on your receipts to see what else you buy. They can build up a picture of the demographic of the users and use this to sell the services they offer to more companies, who at the end of the day, want to sell products!
I think they need to record receipt numbers to see if anyone claimed the same purchase more than once eg only 1 box of carling on the receipt but uploaded to multiple accounts for cashback
But as for tracking IPs/logging devices? They have said it is £45 per month/per user and not per household or per device. One phone could be used to process cashback for several people in a houeshold or indeed on behalf of other households (my mum and in-laws for example have no smartphone so I could claim for them)

If you go straight to CS after buying the item what di you say that you want a refund?
"I've just taken a phone call to go into work and I can't take this with me. Can i return it please"
That's one that I've used
Other times I just say, "this is cheaper in M but your system hasn't recognised their offer Can you refund and I'll just go and buy it there?" :rotfl:
ETA: I've caught up now and see I'm not alone on this :rotfl:Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
