Help please re mark on wall..

I have a newly painted matt emulsion wall - Mr F has made a mark on it.
Can someone advise how to remove the mark - we have very little of that colour paint left.

try giving it a wipe with a damp cloth , the trouble with matt is if you rub it too hard it will show even more , if not try touching up with paint you have left , if no paint left get a test pot
  • try rubbing a piece of white bread over the mark. It's worked for me in the past.

Not sure how he did it - I think he has dragged something either a box he was moving or possibly his leather belt has marked it as he went by.

Thanks for the replies on here. I sent Mr F out to buy a white loaf and tried rubbing the mark.
The mark is nearly gone! :T
I did try another test mark with a baby wipe - took some of the mark off but left a wet look patch behind.

perosnally, I like taste the difference multiseed bread but I don't buy it very often, but for rubbing out pencil marks or g=for general playing to keep your fingers supple, you can't beat good old fashoined white plastic bread.

Try squishing it and then playing with it, it's very satisfying :)

But....why are you asking me? :D

  • Reminds me of the Carol Bayer Sager hit song from 1977

The grocer told me what you do with bread (what do you do?)
Why don't you take up with the baker's wife instead of me, fool!

    -( You're Moving Out Today Lyrics )
You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)
  • That song always made me smile.

To get rid of the last bit of the mark you could try the 'Magic Sponge' - I've used it on everything, including ivory matt paint, and it really is magic! Test in an inconspicuous area first.

You can get it in Wilkos, but it's quite dear there; I've seen it in the £1 shops if you have one.
