NPower bill mistake, where do I stand?

Hello all.
I had an electrical bill from NPower the other day that was admittedly rather low.
When I phoned to pay for the quarterly bill they told me a different figure and said that their was a mistake with the bill.
I paid the bill, but they did no honor their own quote on paper, where do I stand?
Cheers.

If there was an error on the bill, they should send you a revised bill with the correct details.0 -
I had similar issue after one previous tariff ended and rolled to automatic tariff and then to current tariff after switching. Usually I received meter reading email alerts before any bill statement is due.
But trust me never received any alert during these tariff changing periods. They ended up over estimating my units and therefore way inflate my monthy direct debit.
I decided to give latest meter readings and also requested for reduced monthly direct debit. Later a revised statement shows am over 500quid in credit but funny enough I cant download or view this bill. Also reduce payment request was rejected for the reason being they worked out in relation to my utillty usage. It is very clear in the revised bill that I am paying way too much monthly. Is it fair?
Contemplating to switch to another provider very soon0 -

I have just come off a payment plan on the electric, so maybe that is something to do with it.
Always check the meter readings, they will try scam you.
For me DD is a big no, as I do not want bill mistakes going out automatically.
But yeah, always complain.0 -
Have now switched to the popular M&S DEAL which is with Southern Electric.0
