Reinstating Tax Credits Payments

Hello
I am wondering whether anyone can advise how long it is taking tax credits to reinstate payments? I stupidly forgot to renew as I am in the middle of a degree and life has been hectic to say the least and over 4 weeks ago I stopped receiving payments. I had some savings so I didn't worry to much and the operator advised a previous caller had said her payment was reinstated in just over a week. After 2 weeks and 4 days I called up to query and was told my payments had to be calculated within 3 weeks which was the Friday coming up. Unfortunately I was abroad and refused to call up and chase again based on the cost of the call. I have just returned home and of course they are closed Sundays and am now getting pretty desperate. It has been 4 weeks and 2 days since my first missed payment.
Has anyone got any experience they can share? How long are current turnaround times?
Thankyou

On a mums forum that I am on everyone seems to have had their claims reinstated within a week. Only one person was waiting two weeks.0

And the good news for the period you don't get Tax Credits your HB/CTS will increase and when it is finally awarded they will disregard any backdated money and only include your Tax Credits from the date HMRC process your claim. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0

I don't get any HB and I don't think I get CTS seen as I don't even know what it is lol... But thankyou anyway.
Seems a phonecall it is Monday morning then. I hate tax credits. I think I have a black mark against my name. When my husband moved in, it took nearly 3 months to get paid!!!Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

See if your local authority has an online calculator to see if you qualify for any reduction in your Council Tax and if you pay rent - to see if you qualify for any Housing Benefit. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -
I am a full time student nurse so my benefits are very limited especially as my husband works full time. Every time I have tried to claim anything I get told I cant as I am a student. I do however, get 25% disregard for my council tax.
It seems to be a bit complicated being a student lol...Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

to be fair OP, the situation is of your own making.
you were the one who didnt renew the claim and if you had, you would still be receiving paument.
if you hate tax credits so much, you are under no obligation to claim them0 -
nannytone - if you read my OP you will see I stated 'I stupidly'. I was merely asking a question to see what other people where experiencing...
Now did you have anything useful to input or are you just in a bad mood?
I never blamed tax credits for stopping paying me, I stated that the speed at which they re set up payments, especially in my previous experience is poor.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
