Which plasterboard fixing?

I need to put up a couple of small strip lights on a ceiling which is single-skin plasterboard. The lights are around 90cm in width and weight around 2KG.
They will be secured with two holes screwing the bracket onto the plasterboard.
Which plasterboard fixing would be sufficient for this? Would the regular plastic plasterboard plugs be okay or would I have to go for something more substantial?
