Courier says delivered, customer says not

Hi, can anyone offer any advice?

I sold a painting on ebay and paid for it to be sent via myparceldelivery.com, by Citilink next day delivery. It was collected on Tuesday 28th Aug and delivered on Thursday 29th Aug, according to Citilink.
However, my buyer says she didn't receive it.
On further checking, the receiving signature says, "posted". I'm waiting for a reply from Citilink about what this means. Surely the parcel should have had a 'proper' signature before being handed over?
I'm so upset - this should have been an easy, straight forward transaction and I cannot afford to refund the buyer.

Has anyone else had something like this happen?

(I insured the parcel for £100, but will the insurance be valid with such a dubious signature?)

why are you waiting to hear from Citilink, you have no contract with them you ordered through myparceldelivery.com and i assume paid myparceldelivery.com, so these are who you should be contacting through this process http://www.myparceldelivery.com/claims.aspx

Thanks for your reply. I think this is bad news for me - the buyer only let me know yesterday that the parcel hadn't been delivered and it's outside the time allowed for a claim to be made.
I don't understand how Citilink can say it was delivered but not have a proper signature.
I have asked MPD to let me have the Citilink reference number and to look into what has happened.
It's a lot of money for me to lose.
  • Have you tried City Link on Twitter or FB?

If the buyer opens a case, you will win, if the status says delivered. You don't need a signature based on the details you give above.
