Wireless + WiFi thermostats?

Are there any central heating wireless thermostats that are also Wifi Enabled out there? I'm looking for a wireless programmer kit like the Honeywell 927 but which I can also control via a smartphone if need be.

Any recommendations?

There are a few like the nest but they all tend to be for combi boilers and are 1 channel not a traditional boiler with a water tank. Honeywell make one, so do heatmeiser.

If you've got a tank then you may be SoL unless you make your own http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=22244

  • Thanks for the suggestions. Am looking at all of them now.
Nest lookings interesting but it's not portable as far as far as I can see. The it500 looks great but expensive at around 300 quid for a unit and I need three.

Yes the reason i know about the british gas remote heating controls is because i work for them. I didn't realise that was such a crime. I've not come on here giving a sales pitch, the op asked for any recommendations so i've given one.

For me I just use my phone all the time, the control unit is in the back of a cupboard and is never used and realistically we wanted ours as my wife changes shifts a lot so wanted to be able to change the hot water times easily and that's fine to do on a phone or even boost the heating for an hour etc.

That wouldn't work for me because I want the stats to be wireless so that anyone in the specified zone can change the temperature according to their needs. I don't want to give my phone to someone, so it really needs to be independently wireless.

What? A crime to work for BG? :rotfl:

But is that a recommendation because your've heard of the beastie (due to you working for them) or because you have hands on experience either as installer or user and thus can recommend?

What you meant to say and how it came over are not always the same thing. Anyway I didn't call your post as Spam.
