Need to get AppWorld installed on it too
as I recall I had to put that on directly via USB - but that maybe because its a company phone so AppWorld poss had been removed

app world is on a BB as standard

you will also need to set up a Blackberry ID and enable Blackberry Protect. Also with your network provider you will need to set up Blackberry Services ( usually £5 a month)

Thanks for spotting not so deliberate mistake 'Black Barry'. As far as I am concerned calling it 'Samantha' is much better.

Many thanks to all, for trying to help, it is such an impossible task though. I have got a tablet from China, which has filled this gap, I am no longer lonely.

  • The BB Playbook is a well built machine and got some good features - eg 46GB - but suffers from the lack of apps and the inability to run skype. Pity as otherwise it would have been a good buy. Also RIM / BB let users down by not upgrading the playbook with OS10 - which would have brought Andriod apps closer to the machine. Apart from specialist use, the BB PB is a bit of a museum piece now. I am looking to see if I can root it to run andrid or something useful but not sure that can be done.

BB will last they are placing all their resources onto their new smartphones with OS10, they just seem to forget the amount of their customers on BB phones on OS7 and PB users, so many of their long term customers will just go to other providers.

Strange their attitude, they have great support as my PB that i got reconditioned off ebay stopped charging after 2 months, contacted BB and they collected it sent it to their repair center in Germany and returned a new PB all within 4 days

Remarkably generous of them. That will explain why they lost £621m in the second quarter then.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
